Our Programmes

Fellowship Programme

The CGEI fellowship is organised through regional and thematic programmes that contribute to the Centre’s global perspectives. Fellows undertake research, contribute to thematic, regional and cross-regional dialogue, engage with institutions and decision-makers, and produce outputs that inform public and commercial understanding. Fellows are drawn from public institutions, business and industry, research and academia, international organisations, civil society and professional organisations.

Convenings

Some conversations belong in curated rooms, away from public ceremony, where political authority and economic and commercial interests meet over matters of shared importance. Our convenings provide the setting in which participants consider the economic and market risks arising from geopolitical disruption, respond to changing conditions, engage public authorities on economic policy, diplomacy and national strategy, and navigate the forces altering the environment in which industries operate.

Regional Programmes

Europe, the Middle East & Africa (EMEA) Programme

The EMEA Programme addresses the issues connecting Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Its work focuses on geopolitics, trade, investment, energy, security, technology, bilateral and multilateral development, bringing independent insight to the policy and economic decisions consequential to relations between states, markets and institutions.

Asia-Pacific (APAC) Programme

The APAC Programme focuses on a region fundamental to global production, trade and technology. The workstream of the programme addresses economic policy, investment, industrial development, security, and regional and multilateral diplomacy in Asia Pacific.

The Americas Programme

From North America to Latin America and the Caribbean, the Programme addresses developments with consequences beyond the region. Its work centres on trade, investment, economic policy and diplomacy, including the relationships influencing regional cooperation and the position of the Americas in global economic and political affairs.

Special Interest Programmes

Mission for Global Health

The Mission places global health within the forces of diplomacy, political economy and international cooperation. Its programmes follow commitments across the global health system and the conditions that determine access to medicines, health technologies, financing and international action.

Action on Global Trade

Action on Global Trade is CGEI’s dedicated programme on the world trading system and international commerce. It brings trade rules into a programme concerned with the changing terms on which countries, industries and markets participate in international trade and the world economy.

Agenda on Digital Capitalism

Digital capitalism has placed compute, cloud, AI and digital infrastructure at the centre of the world economy and geopolitics. The Agenda brings these forces together with technology transfer and digital access, where control and participation increasingly determine the terms of the digital economy.

The Global South Project

The Global South Project places emerging economies within the changing distribution of power across the international system. Through Global South Gaps and South-South Policy Exchange, the Project brings disparities and transferable policy experience into the centre of economic and political discourse.
